What You Can Do To Help

The National Arbor Day Foundation’s vision is a world where trees and forests are abundant, healthy and sustainable – and highly valued by all people. CarpetsPlus Color Tile® chose to partner with the National Arbor Day Foundation as part of our EcoChoice™ initiative to help ensure the needs of future generations.

Some of those needs are vital like oxygen and the absorption of carbon dioxide. One acre of forest absorbs six tons of carbon dioxide and produces four tons of oxygen. This is enough to meet the annual needs of 18 people. Trees planted alongside streets and roads can also help with this. There are about 60 to 200 million spaces along our city streets where trees could be planted. This translates to the potential to absorb 33 million more tons of carbon dioxide every year, and saving $4 billion in energy costs not to mention improved water quality, resulting in less runoff and erosion and keeping chemicals out of streams.

We feel it's important to support individuals and groups who share our concern for the environment. A donation will be made to the Foundation with every purchase of an EcoChoice™ branded product. The donations will be used for reforestation and rain forest preservation programs. With each dollar contributed, the Foundation will plant one seedling or preserve 250 sq. ft. of rain forest.
